Services and supports available to assist youth ages 3 to 20 who suffer from Mental Illness.  These services are intended to work with the child in the home, in the community, and in the family setting to develop preventative coping skills needed to learn to live with mental illness. Community Support services are psycho-educational and supportive in nature which means that Qualified Professionals and associates work together with each client on an individual basis to incorporate therapeutic strategies and provide education to the individual about his/her illness.  Qualified Professionals and Associates work together with each individual to meet him/her where she is coming from and work with that individual in teaching coping skills needed now before the individual grows older and potential for symptoms worsen.  Bridges of Hope applies Cognitive Behavioral techniques to assist each child with learning to become more motivated in controlling behaviors than mood or symptoms.  The staff will work with the child and parents on developing healthy ways to identify the actual feeling, mood, or symptom when it occurs and become prepared to react in healthier ways that reduce risk of negative results. Ie: (expulsion, jail, loss of natural supports).  These services are intended for children and adolescents with significant functional deficits or who, because of negative environmental, medical or biological factors, are at risk of developing or increasing the magnitude of such functional deficits. Included among this latter group are those at risk for significant developmental delays, atypical development, substance abuse, or serious emotional disturbance (SED) that could result in an inability to live successfully in the community without services and guidance.  These services are not intended to be provided for children who are currently in need of level 2 or 3 group homes or are receiving Intensive In Home Services.
